Patients with cardiovascular diseases may be at risk during sexual activity; therefore, it is crucial to check heart condition before taking this drug. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, immediate medical attention is needed, as failure to receive proper treatment can result in permanent damage. This drug can dangerously lower blood pressure if taken with nitrate agents or NO donors, so it is necessary to inform the provider of any such medications being used. Patients who have had recent cardiovascular issues such as myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, unstable angina, or stroke should not use this drug. There are no special effects when driving or operating machinery; however, if dizziness occurs, caution should be exercised.
