Precautions

This medicine contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is metabolized into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, patients with phenylketonuria, a genetic condition that requires restriction of phenylalanine intake, should not take this medication. The amount of aspartame included in this medication is adjusted not to exceed the WHO recommended amount, and there is a maximum daily dosage set for adults. Patients who have hypersensitivity to this medication, lactose intolerance, lactose deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should also avoid this medication. This medicine is not intended for use during an acute asthma attack; appropriate emergency medication should always be kept on hand. Additionally, inhaled or oral corticosteroids should not be abruptly replaced with this medication. Do not use this medication alone to treat exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, and continue to use inhaled beta agonists as needed. Patients with aspirin hypersensitivity should avoid taking aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs while using this medication, and it is uncertain whether this medication can treat bronchoconstriction caused by those drugs. During the use of this medication, there are rare occurrences of systemic eosinophilia and vasculitis symptoms, so if these symptoms occur, immediate medical attention is required. No significant drug interactions have been reported when this medication is taken alongside other asthma treatments or multiple medications, but observation by a doctor may be necessary when used with certain enzyme inducers. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult with a physician before taking this medication, and it should be administered only when necessary. Safety and efficacy have been established in pediatric patients; however, safety has not been established in infants under 6 months of age. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so general symptomatic treatment and clinical observation are necessary. This medication is light-sensitive, so packaging should not be opened until just before use, and it should be taken as soon as possible after opening. It is important to keep this medication out of reach of children and not transfer it to other containers. This medication should be taken consistently even when asthma symptoms are not present, and if symptoms worsen, consultation with a doctor is necessary. Report any neuropsychiatric symptoms that occur during use immediately.
