This medication may cause severe blistering skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, so if you develop blisters on the skin or notice mucosal damage, you should discontinue use immediately. Individuals with hypersensitivity to this medication or those taking certain drugs (such as terfenadine, astemizole, cisapride, or pimethanate) should not use this medication. Patients with impaired liver function or the elderly should use this medication with caution. Be aware that there may be issues with antibiotic resistance when used with other antibiotics. Furthermore, this medication can prolong the QT interval related to heart rhythm, and patients with cardiovascular conditions or those taking specific antiarrhythmic drugs should consult a healthcare professional before use. Rarely, this medication can cause allergic reactions, blood disorders, liver function abnormalities, gastrointestinal issues, severe colitis, pneumonia, neurological disorders, taste and smell abnormalities, skin rashes, hearing impairment, and visual problems; therefore, consult medical personnel immediately if symptoms occur. Long-term use may lead to resistant bacteria, so it's better to monitor the infection status and use it for the minimum necessary duration. Patients with liver dysfunction should have regular liver function tests and adjust the dosage accordingly; however, patients with poor renal function do not require special dosage adjustments. Care must be taken not to exceed the specified dosage and duration for children. This medication can interfere with the metabolism of others in the liver, potentially raising blood concentration levels of some drugs, so always consult a doctor when taken with specific medications. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should weigh the risks and benefits before using this medication, and breastfeeding should be discontinued while taking it. The elderly may experience prolonged drug half-life, but general dosage adjustments are not necessary.
