Precautions

This drug contains α-lipoic acid as its main ingredient and should not be administered to certain patients. Particularly, individuals allergic to this ingredient or other excipients contained in the drug should not use it. Additionally, safety efficacy in children and adolescents has not been sufficiently verified, so it should not be administered to this age group. While using this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as dyspepsia, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may occasionally occur. Allergic reactions such as rashes, hives, and itching may also appear. Rarely, symptoms of hypoglycemia such as dizziness, sweating, headaches, and visual disturbances may occur due to lowered blood sugar levels, so caution is necessary. Taste disturbances have also been reported infrequently. It is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication. Alcohol can exacerbate nerve damage and diminish the drug's effectiveness. Patients with diabetic neuropathy should especially refrain from alcohol, even during drug-free periods. This drug may reduce the effectiveness of the anticancer drug cisplatin, so it is advisable not to take them together. Additionally, medications or milk containing metal components such as iron or magnesium may not be well absorbed if taken at the same time, so dosing times should be adjusted. When taken with insulin or other diabetes medications, there may be an enhanced blood sugar-lowering effect, so blood sugar levels should be monitored frequently, and the drug dosage adjusted if necessary. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a physician before using this medication, as there is currently no clear information on its effects on fetuses or newborns. In case of overdose, severe poisoning symptoms may occur, including altered consciousness, generalized seizures, hypoglycemia, and multiple organ failure. If such symptoms are suspected, immediate medical attention is necessary. Store this medication in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture, and keep it in a safe place out of the reach of children. Avoid transferring the drug to another container, as this may cause deterioration in quality or accidents.
