Precautions

This medication is an alpha-blocker, primarily used to alleviate urinary disorders caused by prostate enlargement. First, this medication should not be used by patients with hypersensitivity to alpha-blockers or this medication, children under the age of 12, and patients with genetic lactose intolerance. Patients with severely impaired liver or kidney function, history of orthostatic hypotension, heart or cerebrovascular diseases, and diabetic patients should be particularly cautious when using this medication. This medication may occasionally cause symptoms of blood pressure decrease such as dizziness or fainting, so extra care is needed when initially taking it or changing the dosage. Additionally, various side effects such as drowsiness, headache, dyspepsia, rash, and swelling may occur during treatment, and if unusual symptoms arise, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. Because this medication can lower blood pressure, caution should be exercised when engaging in risky activities such as driving or working at heights. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult with a doctor before taking this medication and should preferably avoid using it while breastfeeding. Elderly patients should start with a low dose to minimize the risk of stroke due to blood pressure reduction and should be administered carefully. This medication does not have significant interactions with many other medications, but care should be taken when taken with antihypertensive medications, as the blood pressure-lowering effect may be enhanced. In case of overdose, severe hypotension and heart rate abnormalities may occur, necessitating immediate emergency treatment, and it cannot be removed by dialysis. Finally, this medication should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.
