Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is broken down into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, patients with phenylketonuria, a hereditary condition that requires restriction of phenylalanine intake, should not take this medication. Individuals who have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock after using this medication should not take it. Also, since this medication contains lactose, individuals with hereditary issues such as galactose intolerance or lactase deficiency should refrain from use. If there is a history of allergic reactions to the ingredients of this medication or similar classes of antibiotics, it is advisable not to use it unless in special circumstances. Precautions are also necessary for those allergic to penicillin antibiotics or with a predisposition to allergies such as bronchial asthma, skin rashes, or urticaria. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should use this medication carefully since it may not be excreted well from the body, leading to side effects. Moreover, patients unable to take oral medication, elderly patients, or those in poor general condition should be observed for possible symptoms of vitamin K deficiency. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur while taking this medication, so symptoms should be closely monitored. If there are reactions such as rash, urticaria, itching, fever, or joint pain, it is essential to stop taking it immediately and seek treatment. In the gastrointestinal system, severe colitis, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or vomiting may occur, so immediate consultation with a doctor is advised if symptoms manifest. In the respiratory system, rare complications such as pneumonia or eosinophilic pulmonary infiltrates may also occur, so caution is advised in the event of respiratory difficulty or cough. Blood tests may show abnormalities such as leukopenia or platelet changes, so blood tests are recommended for long-term usage. Central nervous system side effects can include cognitive impairment or seizures in cases of poor kidney function, necessitating dose adjustments. Serious skin reactions may rarely occur, and if symptoms such as rash, blisters, or skin peeling arise, stopping the medication immediately is essential. There may be abnormal results in liver and kidney function tests, necessitating regular check-ups, and if abnormalities are found, discontinuation and treatment are required. Oral infections such as stomatitis or candidiasis may occur with this medication, so attention to oral hygiene is necessary. Symptoms of bleeding tendency due to vitamin K deficiency or vitamin B complex deficiency may also manifest, so symptoms should be closely monitored. Headaches, swelling, sensory disturbances, and weakness may sometimes occur. When using this medication, it is crucial to conduct sensitivity testing to prevent the development of resistant bacteria and take it for only the minimum necessary duration. To prevent allergic reactions, thorough history taking and skin testing are recommended. Dizziness may occur during usage, so care must be taken while driving or operating machinery. If taken for more than ten days, it is advisable to monitor neutrophil levels through blood tests. Patients with decreased kidney function should proceed with caution, as unadjusted doses may lead to seizures. Severe skin reactions have been reported, so skin conditions should be frequently monitored and use should be halted in case of abnormalities. This medication may affect kidney function when taken with diuretics or specific antibiotics, so caution is advised when used concurrently. Additionally, concurrent use with probenecid may slow the excretion of this medication, leading to increased blood concentration. When taken with medications that alter gastric acidity, caution is advised as they may affect the absorption of this medication. Safety has not been established during pregnancy, so it should only be used when therapeutic benefits outweigh risks, and breastfeeding should be discontinued if using. Safety has not been established for newborns, preterm infants, or infants under two months of age, so use should be avoided in these populations. Elderly individuals may experience adverse reactions more easily due to declining body function, so careful attention to dosage and intervals is advised. After preparing this medication in suspension form, it should be stored in a tightly closed container, refrigerated, and used within two weeks. It should also be well shaken before use.
