Relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (seasonal, perennial) and chronic urticaria
This medication helps alleviate symptoms caused by inflammation of the nasal mucosa, such as seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. It also reduces skin rashes and itching associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria, improving the discomfort of patients. Additionally, it contributes to symptom relief when used in conjunction with hydrocortisone topical preparations for dermatitis and eczema accompanied by itching. This efficacy is used to maintain the health of patients' daily lives.
Adults and children over 6 years: Take 1 tablet (5 mg of Levocetirizine Hydrochloride) orally once a day, regardless of meals. Allergic reactions may lead to skin rashes, itching, and swelling, which should be reported immediately to medical personnel if severe. This medication can cause drowsiness and fatigue, so it is advisable to avoid taking it with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants. The risk of urinary retention exists, so patients with urinary issues such as spinal cord injury or prostate enlargement should be particularly cautious. Patients with epilepsy or at risk of seizures may have worsening symptoms while taking this medication. Pregnant women should use this medication with caution, and breastfeeding women should also consult a specialist as it may affect the baby. Dosing adjustments may be necessary for children and the elderly depending on kidney function, and it should not be used in infants under 1 year old. This medication may affect allergy test results, so it is recommended to discontinue it before testing. Overdose may present as drowsiness, agitation, and restlessness, and since there is no antidote, symptomatic care is necessary.
