Precautions

This medicine contains α-lipoic acid, and individuals allergic to this ingredient or its excipients should not take it. Additionally, this medication has not been sufficiently tested for safety in children and adolescents, so it should not be used by children or adolescents. During treatment, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may occur rarely, and allergic reactions such as skin rashes, hives, and itching may arise. This drug may lower blood sugar levels, which can lead to symptoms of hypoglycemia such as dizziness, sweating, headache, and visual impairment, so diabetics should be cautious. Occasionally, taste disturbances may occur. Frequent alcohol consumption may increase the risk of worsening neurological symptoms, so patients with diabetic neuropathy should avoid alcohol intake during treatment and in the off-treatment period. This drug can reduce the effectiveness of the specific anticancer drug cisplatin, so it should not be taken together. Taking this drug with formulations containing iron, magnesium, calcium, or foods and medicines with metal components may reduce its efficacy; therefore, it is recommended to take this medication 30 minutes before meals and take metal-containing formulations after meals. When taken alongside insulin or diabetic medications, blood sugar levels can become too low, so regular monitoring of blood sugar and dosage adjustments may be necessary. Pregnant or nursing women should take this medicine cautiously, as its safety has not been fully established, following medical advice. Overdose may lead to severe poisoning symptoms; if suspected, seek immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment. This medication should not be stored at temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius and must be kept in a safe place out of reach of children. Furthermore, transferring the medicine to another container may degrade its quality or lead to accidents, so it is safest to store it in the original container.
