Adult dose
To achieve maximum benefit, the dose should be individualized. The usual daily doses listed below are suitable for most patients, but higher doses may be required. In such cases, increase the dose slowly to avoid adverse effects. The risk of dependence may increase with the dose and duration of administration. Therefore, use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration and frequently reassess the need for continued treatment. ○ Adults 1. The initial dosage of alprazolam is 0.25-0.5㎎ per dose, 3 times daily, with a maximum dose of 4㎎ per day. Reduce the dose if adverse effects occur at the initial dose. 2. Psychosomatic disorders Administer 1.2㎎ of this medicine per day orally in 3 divided doses. If increasing the dose, increase gradually to a maximum of 2.4㎎ per day and administer orally in 3-4 divided doses. For elderly patients, the initial dosage is 0.4㎎ per dose, 1-2 times daily, with a maximum dose of 1.2㎎ per day. 3. Panic disorder The initial dose of this medicine is 0.5㎎. Depending on the patient's response to treatment, increase by no more than 1㎎ at intervals of 3-4 days to an average daily dose of 5-6㎎, administered in 3-4 divided doses. Precautions

This medication is a benzodiazepine that acts on the central nervous system to produce a sedative effect. Serious side effects such as respiratory depression or coma may occur when used in combination with narcotics, so caution is necessary during combined administration. This drug has the risk of misuse and dependence, and should only be administered at the minimum effective dose while closely monitoring the patient's condition. It should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity or specific diseases, such as acute angle-closure glaucoma, severe myasthenia gravis, severe respiratory failure, or liver failure. Patients with weakened heart, liver, or kidney function, as well as the elderly, may experience more severe side effects, so administration should be cautious. This medication may cause drowsiness or decreased reflexes, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery while taking it. Regular blood tests and liver function tests are recommended during prolonged use. If discontinued abruptly, withdrawal symptoms may occur, so dosage should be reduced gradually following a doctor's instructions. During pregnancy, especially in the later stages, it should be avoided as it may affect the fetus and newborn. Caution is also necessary in breastfeeding, as the drug can be passed through breast milk. This medication has many drug interactions, particularly when taken with alcohol or central nervous system depressants, which may increase side effects, so consultation with a physician is essential.
