This medication is used to prevent asthma attacks and provide ongoing treatment. It also helps relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, making it effective for both asthma and allergic rhinitis patients.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and adolescents aged 15 years and older should take 10 mg orally once daily. 10 mg oral dissolving film should be placed on the tongue and allowed to dissolve without water once daily. This medication is taken once daily; for asthma patients, it is recommended to take it in the evening.

Child dose

Children aged 6 to 14 years should chew 5 mg once daily or place it on the tongue and allow it to disintegrate without water. 5 mg dry syrup should be administered orally as 5 mg once daily.

Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis and should not be administered to patients who are allergic to it or its components. This medication is not intended for use during acute asthma attacks, so appropriate emergency medication should always be available during such episodes. While you may continue taking this medication if asthma symptoms worsen, do not abruptly stop inhaled corticosteroids or switch to this medicine. In cases of exercise-induced bronchospasm, do not use this medication alone; inhaled beta agonists should be used in conjunction. Use this medication during pregnancy only when necessary, and breastfeeding mothers should be cautious, as this drug may be excreted in breast milk. This medication should not be administered to infants under 6 months of age, as safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly patients may use this medication, but caution is necessary due to potential differences in age-related responses. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, but general symptomatic treatment and clinical monitoring are required. Store this medication out of reach of children, and avoid transferring it to other containers, as it may affect quality. Be sure to take this medication regularly as directed by your doctor, and if symptoms worsen or if you need a short-acting inhaler more frequently, consult your physician. Additionally, if any neuropsychiatric symptoms (e.g., anxiety, agitation, depression, etc.) appear during treatment, notify healthcare personnel immediately.
