How to take

Adult dose

For adults and children over 12 years old, take 500-1000 mg (in terms of potency) of Amoxicillin and Sulbactam coated tablets orally three times a day.

Precautions

This medication is a penicillin-class antibiotic and should not be used by individuals allergic to any of its components or who have hypersensitivity to penicillin-class drugs. Patients allergic to cephalosporins should also avoid this medication. Furthermore, patients with viral infections, such as infectious mononucleosis, are at increased risk of rash and should be monitored closely. This medication contains lactose, so it is not administered to patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders or various allergic reactions, as well as those with bronchial asthma or an allergic constitution, should use it cautiously. Patients with severely impaired kidney function may require dosage adjustment due to increased drug concentration. Patients who have difficulty swallowing, elderly patients, or those in poor general condition should be carefully monitored for the risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency. During treatment, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain may occur, and if severe diarrhea or blood in the stool develops, the medication should be stopped immediately, and medical consultation is recommended. Allergic reactions such as urticaria, edema, skin rashes, and in severe cases, anaphylactic shock may occur, requiring prompt medical attention if symptoms appear. Symptoms of renal dysfunction or blood abnormalities have also been reported, necessitating regular monitoring and cessation of use upon detection of abnormalities. Prolonged use may lead to excessive growth of fungi or antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and if infection symptoms appear, drug use should be stopped and treated. Skin rashes or severe skin reactions may occur, requiring careful observation of the condition. Hepatic function anomalies or jaundice symptoms may also appear, and regular hepatic function tests are recommended. Rarely, neurological symptoms such as seizures or headaches may occur, and if aseptic meningitis symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued immediately. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is especially important to consult a doctor or pharmacist if taking specific anticancer agents, anti-inflammatory drugs, or oral contraceptives. During pregnancy, it is known to pose a low risk to the fetus, but it should only be administered when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. In breastfeeding, because the drug can be excreted in milk and may affect the baby, caution is necessary. In children and the elderly, due to immature or reduced renal function, drug concentrations may increase, necessitating even more careful administration. In case of overdose, neurological toxicity or renal failure may occur, so immediate medical attention is required. This drug should only be used for the minimum duration after susceptibility testing to prevent the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and care should be taken regarding dosage and intervals when used with other antibiotics.
