Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to this medication or any ingredient of this medication. As it contains lactose, patients with galactose intolerance, lactose deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome should not take it. Patients allergic to soybean oil, soy, or peanuts should safely avoid using this medication. Patients with liver disease or a history of liver disease should use this medication cautiously, and closely monitor for possible worsening of liver function. Patients with lipid metabolism disorders or those with hyperlipidemia, diabetic dyslipidemia, or pancreatitis should use this medication carefully, especially in conjunction with lipid emulsions. If allergic reactions occur during use, such as rash, urticaria, swelling of the face or limbs, or itching, the medication should be stopped immediately and medical attention sought. Caution is advised as side effects such as drowsiness, lethargy, headache, dizziness, insomnia, and nightmares may occur, requiring careful attention when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and dry mouth may occur, so unusual symptoms should be reported. Since liver function abnormalities may occur, liver enzyme levels should be regularly checked, and if abnormalities are noted, the medication should be discontinued. It may affect kidney function, so monitoring for symptoms such as proteinuria is necessary. Symptoms related to the urinary system, such as frequent urination, hematuria, and urinary retention may occur; unusual symptoms should be monitored closely. Although rarer, symptoms such as palpitations or shortness of breath and nasal congestion can occur, and medical consultation should be sought if these occur. Blood-related abnormalities including thrombocytopenia or increased white blood cell counts may occur, thus regular testing is required. Hormonal side effects such as gynecomastia, menstrual disorders, and chest pain can occur, but are rare. This medication is not intended for the rapid relief of asthma attacks, so asthma patients should use it with this understanding. Patients undergoing long-term steroid treatment should gradually reduce their corticosteroid use when taking this medication, and should be under medical supervision. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should use this medication cautiously only when necessary, as safety has not been established. Breastfeeding women should avoid using this medication if possible, or discontinue breastfeeding, as it can be passed into breast milk. Safety for children, newborns, and low birth weight infants has not been sufficiently confirmed, so caution is necessary. Elderly patients often have decreased liver and kidney functions; therefore, they should be monitored carefully for adverse reactions, potentially requiring dose adjustment. In cases of overdose, cardiac issues such as arrhythmias may occur, in which case medical staff should be notified immediately, as gastric lavage or symptomatic treatment may be needed. Keep out of reach of children and avoid transferring the medication to another container, as it may lead to accidents or degradation of quality. There may be differences in blood concentration depending on whether taken before or after meals, so maintaining the appropriate dosing time according to symptoms is important.
