Treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease
This medication is used for the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease.
This medication is to be taken orally once daily at the same time each day. If necessary, it can be administered twice daily. Dose increases should be done by raising the dose by 5mg weekly for the first 3 weeks to reach the maintenance dose. In the first week (days 1-7), take 5mg daily; in the second week (days 8-14), take 10mg daily; in the third week (days 15-21), take 15mg daily; in the fourth week, 20mg daily.
This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to any of its ingredients. It is also advisable not to administer it to patients with very poor liver function or severely impaired kidney function. Patients with epilepsy or a history of seizures should use this medication cautiously, and it is recommended not to combine it with certain other medications as it may increase the risk of side effects. Additionally, patients with altered urine acidity or heart diseases should be monitored carefully. During treatment with this medication, symptoms such as dizziness, headache, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension may occur, and hallucinations or psychiatric symptoms have been reported rarely. If these symptoms are severe, it is important to consult medical personnel immediately. There may be interactions with other medications; therefore, particularly if taking NMDA antagonists, antipsychotic drugs, muscle relaxants, or anticoagulants, patients should inform their doctors or pharmacists and proceed with caution. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and it is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding while using this medication. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children and adolescents under the age of 18, so it is advisable not to use it in these populations. In the event of overdose, central nervous system symptoms or gastrointestinal symptoms may appear, and if suspected, it is vital to visit a hospital immediately for appropriate treatment. Lastly, this medication may affect the patient's reaction time, so caution should be taken when driving or operating machinery. Special care should be taken when engaging in these activities. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and care should be taken not to transfer it to another container.

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. The recommended storage temperature is room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
