This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication, pregnant women, nursing mothers, severe liver impairment, aortic stenosis, biliary obstruction, patients on dialysis, patients in shock, and certain diabetic patients should not take this medication. Patients with low blood pressure due to fluid or salt depletion, those sensitive to vasodilation, severe coronary artery obstruction, congestive heart failure, renal impairment, and liver impairment should use this medication with caution, and their conditions should be closely monitored. Various side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, edema, dyspepsia, skin rash may occur while taking this medication; if any abnormal symptoms arise, consult a doctor immediately. Suddenly stopping beta-blockers can be dangerous, so dosage should be gradually reduced when taking this medication with beta blockers. Because it can affect renal function or potassium levels in the blood, regular tests are necessary for patients with kidney disease or those at risk of hyperkalemia. Serious risks to the fetus are involved during pregnancy, hence patients planning to become pregnant or confirming pregnancy must consult healthcare professionals and discontinue the medication. In nursing mothers, there is a possibility of transmission to breast milk, which can cause side effects in infants, thus breastfeeding or medication should be halted. Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established, so it is not recommended. Elderly patients may show different medication responses due to decreased renal and hepatic function, so they should start at lower doses and use it with caution. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension and symptoms due to vasodilation may occur, hence immediate contact with healthcare providers is necessary for appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and out of the reach of children; transferring it to other containers may degrade its quality. Interactions may occur when taken with other medications; therefore, inform healthcare professionals of any concurrent medications.
