Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic belonging to the penicillin group and may cause specific allergic reactions, so it should not be administered to patients with a history of hypersensitivity. Patients with viral diseases accompanied by infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia may have an increased risk of rash, necessitating caution. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice should use this medication cautiously, as hepatic damage may recur when taking it. Patients with liver impairment need to be cautious, as the medication may worsen liver function, and those with moderate to severe kidney impairment may require adjusted dosing due to increased drug concentration. Patients with an allergic constitution, the elderly, those in poor overall health, or those who have difficulty taking orally may have an increased risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency and should be cautious. Patients with gastrointestinal disorders may have impaired drug absorption, so their condition should be checked carefully before administering. This medication may cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and it is recommended to take it with meals to reduce gastrointestinal adverse reactions. Hepatic dysfunction may occur rarely, especially in the elderly or with long-term use, necessitating regular liver function tests. Severe skin reactions such as rash, urticaria, and in severe cases, Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur due to hypersensitivity; if symptoms occur, administration must be stopped immediately, and medical advice should be sought. Hematological abnormalities such as leukopenia and thrombocytopenia are rarely reported, so regular blood tests are necessary. Central nervous system symptoms such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures may occur rarely, so any neurological symptoms should be reported immediately. Patients with renal dysfunction are at risk for kidney damage, so their kidney function should be monitored. Antibiotic use may disrupt the balance of intestinal bacteria, leading to dysbiosis such as candidiasis; thus, patients should consult a doctor if symptoms arise. Bleeding tendencies due to vitamin K deficiency may manifest; if bleeding symptoms occur, patients should inform their healthcare provider promptly. The medication should not be administered during the first trimester of pregnancy, and pregnant or nursing women should consult with their doctor before use. In children under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg, there is limited experience, and its use is not recommended. Elderly patients may exhibit more adverse reactions due to diminished physiological functions; therefore, dosage and intervals should be adjusted and carefully monitored. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist before combining it with anticoagulants, gout medications, antibiotics, etc. In the event of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, rash, and seizures may occur; administration must be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be provided.
