Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock due to this medication or cephalosporin antibiotics. It should also be used with caution in patients who are allergic to penicillin antibiotics or have an allergic constitution, severe renal impairment, difficulty in oral intake, the elderly, and those with a history of gastrointestinal disease. This medication may rarely cause severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, liver or kidney dysfunction, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory diseases, and central nervous system abnormal symptoms, so if any symptoms occur, administration should be immediately stopped, and consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. Furthermore, it is important to verify susceptibility and use it for the minimum necessary duration to prevent the development of resistant bacteria. Special care is needed when used with drugs that affect the kidneys, anticoagulants, or oral contraceptives as they may interact with other medications. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should only use this medication if absolutely necessary, as its safety has not been fully established, and breastfeeding mothers should use it with caution. The safety in neonates has not been confirmed, so it is advisable not to use it in neonates under 1 month of age. Elderly patients may be more prone to side effects due to decreased bodily function, so dosage adjustment and status monitoring are necessary. Lastly, this medication works by disrupting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall to kill bacteria, making it very important to comply with the prescribed usage and dosage.
