Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medication is used to effectively relieve acute and chronic pain ranging from moderate to severe.
Children over 12 years and adults: Dosage should be adjusted based on the patient's level of pain and therapeutic response. An initial dose of 4 tablets is recommended, after which the interval between doses should be at least 6 hours, and should not exceed 16 tablets per day. Administer the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible. Avoid prolonged use beyond necessary and regularly monitor medication continuation in cases where long-term use is required due to the nature and severity of the disease. Elderly patients Administer the usual adult dosage. However, for elderly patients over 75, the elimination half-life of tramadol can be increased by 17%, so doses should be spaced at least 6 hours apart. Patients with renal impairment For patients with moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance of 10-30 ml/min), the dosing interval should be extended to 12 hours. For patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance of less than 10 ml/min), administration of this medication is not recommended. Tramadol is removed very slowly, even during hemodialysis, so there is no need to re-administer this medication to maintain analgesic effects post-dialysis. Patients with hepatic impairment For patients with moderate hepatic impairment, careful consideration should be given to extending the dosing interval. For patients with severe hepatic impairment, this medication should not be administered.
Children over 12 years and adults: Dosage should be adjusted based on the patient's level of pain and therapeutic response. An initial dose of 4 tablets is recommended, after which the interval between doses should be at least 6 hours, with a maximum of 16 tablets per day.
This medication may put strain on the liver, so individuals who regularly drink more than three alcoholic beverages a day should consult a physician or pharmacist before taking it. This medication can rarely cause serious skin allergic reactions; if a rash or hypersensitivity appears, it should be discontinued immediately. One of the main ingredients, tramadol, can increase the risk of seizures if the recommended dosage is exceeded, and the risk may also increase when used in combination with certain antidepressants or narcotic analgesics. Patients with severe asthma may experience difficulty breathing when taking this medication, so it must be administered in a setting equipped with medical facilities. Caution is advised when taking this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants, as it can cause severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma. Patients with increased intracranial pressure or head injuries should use this medication cautiously, as it may worsen symptoms. This medication may cause physical or psychological dependence, so careful monitoring for dependence is necessary during prolonged use. Because it contains acetaminophen, patients with impaired liver function must consult a physician before taking it, and the total daily dose should not exceed 4,000 mg. Particularly, those who metabolize drugs quickly due to genetic differences have a higher risk of respiratory depression and should follow their physician's instructions regarding dosage. This medication should not be administered to children under 12 years of age or adolescents under 18 who have undergone certain surgeries. Patients with symptoms of sleep apnea or hypoxemia should be monitored regularly, as the use of this medication may worsen these symptoms. This medication can potentially cause hyponatremia, so the elderly or those at risk for hyponatremia should be closely monitored for symptoms. This medication may interact with certain drugs, so individuals taking other medications must inform their healthcare provider. If pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a physician before taking this medication, as it may affect the baby through breast milk. Be cautious as drowsiness or dizziness may occur during driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, serious respiratory depression, seizures, liver damage, etc., may occur, so stick to the prescribed dosage and visit a medical institution immediately if there are abnormal symptoms. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children and access should be restricted to prevent misuse.
