This drug helps improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness caused by obliterative thromboangiitis. It is also used to alleviate lower limb pain and numbness due to acquired lumbar spinal canal stenosis and to enhance the patient's walking ability.

How to take

Adult dose

1. For improvement of ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness caused by thromboangiitis obliterans (Buerger's disease), the usual adult dose is 2 tablets orally 3 times daily. 2. For improvement of subjective symptoms (lower-limb pain and numbness) and walking ability associated with acquired lumbar spinal stenosis (in patients with a normal SLR test and bilateral intermittent claudication), the usual adult dose is 1 tablet orally 3 times daily. The dose may be adjusted as appropriate according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Also, because it contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with genetic disorders such as lactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. It should be used cautiously in patients with a tendency to bleed or those taking antiplatelet agents, thrombolytics, or anticoagulants. When using this drug, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash or itching may occur; therefore, if these symptoms appear, usage should be discontinued immediately. Also, bleeding may occur rarely, so if symptoms of bleeding appear, stop administration and seek medical attention. It can affect the gastrointestinal tract, causing diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, heartburn, vomiting, and abdominal bloating. Liver function may be affected, so liver enzyme levels (AST, ALT) should be monitored. Cardiovascular symptoms such as palpitations, hypotension, and peripheral cyanosis may also occur, so caution is necessary. Other symptoms such as headaches, facial flushing, dizziness, heat sensation, general weakness, swelling, galactorrhea, tremors, lower limb hirsutism, and anemia may rarely occur. Patients with lumbar spinal canal stenosis should observe changes in symptoms to decide on continued use, and efficacy in severe patients is uncertain. Safety during pregnancy has not been established, and uterine contraction effects have been reported in animal studies, so pregnant women should avoid use. Safety in children has not been confirmed; therefore, there is no experience with use. Elderly patients should use caution, such as reducing the dose, as physiological functions may be diminished. In healthy adults, administering large amounts may temporarily lower blood pressure, so caution is necessary.
