Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to specific components or have had hypersensitivity reactions to benzimidazoles. Patients with hypersensitivity to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics should be cautious during combination therapy, and it may be risky to use in combination with certain heart-related medications, so be sure to consult a doctor. It is safest for pregnant or nursing women not to take this medication. Patients with liver function problems, elderly patients, and those with a history of drug hypersensitivity should use this medication cautiously. If skin rash, hives, or itching occurs while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately. Regular blood tests are required as there may be changes in levels of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Liver function tests should be regularly conducted as there may be liver function abnormalities; if hepatitis or jaundice symptoms appear, notify a doctor immediately. Symptoms related to the heart such as changes in blood pressure, headaches, and dizziness may occur, so caution is required. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, and nausea may occur, and in severe cases, immediate consultation with medical personnel is necessary. Neurological symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety, headaches, and drowsiness may occur, so caution is required when driving or operating machinery. Respiratory symptoms such as coughing and difficulty breathing may occur; if abnormal symptoms persist, visit a hospital. Musculoskeletal symptoms such as muscle pain and joint pain may occur. Skin reactions such as rashes, hair loss, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions like toxic epidermal necrolysis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, requiring immediate discontinuation of the medication. Visual disturbances, tinnitus, or eye pain may occur; consult a specialist if any abnormalities are noticed. Urological symptoms such as hematuria or difficulty urinating may occur; if symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Long-term use may increase the risk of osteoporosis and fractures, so periodic examinations are necessary. Hypomagnesemia may occur, so if taken long-term or with related medications, magnesium levels should be regularly checked. This medication suppresses gastric acid secretion, which may slightly increase the risk of gastrointestinal bacterial infections. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur, so stay cautious when driving or operating machinery. There may be drug interactions, so inform medical personnel of any other medications being taken. Pregnant or nursing women should not take this medication, and elderly patients should use it cautiously due to the risk of side effects from decreased liver function. Safety in children has not been established, so it is better not to use it. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so treatment and supportive therapy should be based on symptoms.
