This medication is effective for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendonitis, acute gout, and dysmenorrhea. It is also used for relieving pain from bursitis and muscle / skeletal injuries such as sprains, contusions, trauma, and lower back pain. It helps with pain following surgery or tooth extraction and is effective for migraines. This drug is widely used to improve various inflammatory diseases and pain conditions.

How to take

Adult dose

1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis Administer an oral dose of 250–500 mg of Naproxen twice a day (every 12 hours). 2. Acute gout Initially administer an oral dose of 750 mg and continue taking 250 mg orally every 8 hours until the attack subsides. 3. Skeletal muscle disorders, post-surgical pain, post-extraction pain, dysmenorrhea, tendonitis, bursitis Initially administer 500 mg orally, then follow with 250 mg orally every 6–8 hours.

Precautions

This medication should be consulted with a doctor or pharmacist before taking if you regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks a day, as it may cause gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, and patients with a history of heart disease or stroke or risk factors should be extra cautious; immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is needed if cardiovascular symptoms occur. Severe gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation may occur, and the risk is higher especially in the elderly or with long-term use, so gastrointestinal symptoms should be monitored during treatment. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers, severe liver or kidney disease, cardiovascular dysfunction, hypertension, and those allergic to this medication or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should not take this medication. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers, blood abnormalities, decreased liver or kidney function, hypertension, asthma, etc. should take this medication cautiously, and caution is necessary for those with a history of allergies. If symptoms such as shortness of breath, rash, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver dysfunction, renal impairment, severe headaches, or skin adverse reactions occur during treatment, stop taking this medication immediately and consult a doctor. This medication may increase the risk of side effects when combined with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or certain medications, so be sure to inform your healthcare provider of any other medications you are taking. During pregnancy, especially in the later stages, this medication may be harmful to the fetus, so it should be avoided; women who may become pregnant should consult a specialist before taking it. Lactating women should avoid this medication because it can be transmitted through breast milk and cause side effects in newborns. In children, especially in infants under 2 years of age, safety is not established, so it is not recommended, and elderly patients should take it cautiously and at the minimum effective dose due to a higher risk of bleeding or gastrointestinal disorders. Regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests should be conducted while taking this medication, and if unusual symptoms arise, consult a healthcare professional immediately. In case of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness, dyspepsia, and vomiting may occur, and if suspected, should visit a hospital immediately for treatment. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container is not recommended for safety.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or Naproxen derivatives. Co-administration with hydantoins, sulfonamides, sulfonylurea hypoglycemic agents, propranolol and other beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, loop diuretics, and thiazide diuretics, probenecid, aspirin, lithium, methotrexate, coumarin anticoagulants, zidovudine, and fluoroquinolones is contraindicated.

Storage

Store this medication in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture. It is best to keep the storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature.
