How to take

Take one tablet once a day, regardless of meals. Transition after adjusting the dose of candesartan cilexetil; the antihypertensive effect appears within 4 weeks of starting treatment. No dose adjustment is necessary for the elderly. Patients with intravascular effective blood volume depletion or renal impairment should have the initial dose of candesartan cilexetil adjusted to 4 milligrams. Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn when taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, and must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients or sulfonamide derivatives should not take this medication. Patients with severely impaired renal function or significantly decreased liver function should also avoid using this medication. Patients with a history of angioedema or certain vascular diseases, as well as patients with gout, should refrain from using this medication. Patients with electrolyte imbalances or anuria, as well as those with certain endocrine disorders, should not take this medication. This medication is also unsuitable for patients who are genetically unable to digest lactose. Patients with decreased blood volume or electrolyte imbalances should wait for symptom improvement before taking this medication. Caution is required in patients with impaired liver function due to the risk of side effects, such as hepatic coma, when taking this medication. Patients with valvular heart disease or cardiomyopathy require special attention when taking this medication. Patients with hyperkalemia should exercise caution as symptoms may worsen with this medication. Elderly patients or those with a history of gout or diabetes in the family should take this medication with caution. The risk of hypotension, hyperkalemia, and renal function deterioration may increase when this medication is combined with other antihypertensives, necessitating careful monitoring by healthcare professionals. The diuretic components of this medication can lead to electrolyte imbalances; therefore, regular blood tests are necessary. The hydrochlorothiazide component may increase sun sensitivity in the skin, raising the risk of skin cancer, so exposure to sunlight should be limited and protective measures should be taken. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, fatigue, and dyspepsia may occur when taking this medication, and if unusual symptoms persist, the physician should be consulted. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should not take this medication, and alternative treatment options should be sought if necessary. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been established, and use is not recommended. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, electrolyte abnormalities, and cardiac arrhythmias may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children and kept in its original container for safety.
