This medication helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It particularly lowers the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, vascular surgeries, and angina, and also prevents hospitalization due to congestive heart failure. It lowers total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol levels in patients with hyperlipidemia and increases HDL-cholesterol levels, thereby improving blood lipid conditions. In pediatric patients aged 10 to 17 with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, this medication can be used along with dietary measures to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Overall, it is effective in improving cardiovascular health.
