Precautions

This medication can irritate the upper gastrointestinal mucosa, leading to esophagitis, esophageal ulcers, and esophageal erosion. If symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, pain during swallowing, pain behind the sternum, or heartburn occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. This medication must be taken with a sufficient amount of water, and you should not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it. It should not be administered to patients with esophageal strictures or achalasia that delay esophageal emptying, patients who cannot sit upright for at least 30 minutes, and those with hypersensitivity to any component of this drug. Patients with hypocalcemia or certain genetic diseases such as lactose intolerance should also avoid this medication. While taking this drug, gastrointestinal-related adverse reactions such as abdominal pain, nausea, indigestion, constipation, and diarrhea may occur, and esophagitis or esophageal ulcers may rarely occur. Neurological adverse reactions such as musculoskeletal pain, headache, dizziness, and taste disturbances have also been reported. This medication can interfere with the absorption of calcium supplements or antacids, so it should be spaced at least 30 minutes apart. Caution is needed when co-administering with aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal adverse reactions. During pregnancy, the risks and benefits to the fetus and mother should be carefully considered when taking this medication, and caution is also needed during breastfeeding. It should not be used in children and is not recommended for the elderly or severely impaired renal function patients. When taking this medication, it should be taken in the morning with plenty of water before the first food, drink, or medication, and lying down should be avoided for at least 30 minutes after taking it. This medication should not be chewed or sucked, and especially should not be taken before bedtime or upon waking. Rarely, low-energy fractures of bones may occur with long-term use, so consultation with a doctor is advised if pain occurs. In case of overdose, side effects such as hypocalcemia and gastrointestinal disturbances may occur, requiring immediate medical attention, and induced vomiting is prohibited. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and care should be taken not to transfer it to another container.
