Precautions

This drug is a beta-lactam antibiotic and belongs to the penicillin group. It should never be used in patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to its components, as serious allergic reactions may occur. Caution is especially necessary for patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, as the risk of rash is high. Patients with impaired liver function or those with a history of liver damage from this drug or penicillin should also use caution. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment may have increased drug concentrations and should adjust the dosing interval. Patients with allergies or those with bronchial asthma, skin rashes, and similar symptoms should also use this drug cautiously. Digestive symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea may affect drug absorption, so caution is warranted. This drug may cause gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain; severe cases may lead to serious intestinal diseases such as pseudomembranous colitis, so immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary if symptoms are severe. Liver function test values may rise, or symptoms of hepatitis may appear, particularly in older adults and men, making regular monitoring of liver function status important. Rarely, life-threatening allergic reactions such as severe skin rashes, shock, and angioedema may occur, so this medication should be discontinued immediately and healthcare professionals notified if unusual symptoms arise. Abnormalities such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia may be seen in blood tests, necessitating regular blood tests during long-term use. Central nervous system abnormalities such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures have rarely been reported, with higher seizure risks particularly noted in patients with poor renal function. Renal function may be impaired; therefore, renal function tests are also required, and immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary if symptoms occur. This drug may interact with other medications, so patients taking anticoagulants, certain antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, or immunosuppressants should inform healthcare professionals. During pregnancy, especially in the first three months, it is advisable to avoid use, and during breastfeeding, if adverse reactions occur, discontinuation is necessary as it may affect the baby. It is not recommended for children under 12 years old or weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients, whose physiological functions are diminished, should use this drug with caution while adjusting the dose and dosing interval to minimize the risk of adverse reactions. In cases of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms and renal failure, seizures, etc., may occur, necessitating immediate discontinuation and appropriate treatment. This drug should be stored in a sealed container to prevent moisture, and kept in a dry place at or below 25 degrees Celsius. Proper storage will help maintain the drug's efficacy for a longer time.
