Relief of symptoms such as allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria
This medication relieves unpleasant symptoms caused by seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis. It is also effective in reducing skin rashes and itching due to chronic idiopathic urticaria. It helps alleviate itching caused by dermatitis or eczema. It is primarily used for relieving symptoms associated with these allergic conditions and skin symptoms.
Adults: Administer 1 tablet (Levocetirizine Hydrochloride 5mg) orally once daily, regardless of meals. Adjust dose appropriately based on age and symptoms. For patients with renal impairment: Adjust dosage based on renal function (creatinine clearance (CLCR)). - Mild (50 ≤ CLCR < 80): 1 tablet once daily - Moderate (30 ≤ CLCR < 50): 1 tablet every other day - Severe (10 ≤ CLCR < 30): 1 tablet every three days
Children over 6 years old: Administer 1 tablet (Levocetirizine Hydrochloride 5mg) orally once daily, regardless of meals.
This medication should not be used in patients who have had an allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to specific components. It should not be administered to patients with severely impaired renal function or those undergoing dialysis. It is advisable for pregnant or potentially pregnant women, as well as breastfeeding women, to avoid this medication. This medication should not be used in infants under 1 year old, and it is recommended to administer it in liquid form rather than as tablets for children under 6 years old. The tablets contain lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic disorders should not take them. Patients with weak kidney or liver function, and elderly individuals should use this medication with caution as it may increase the concentration in the body. This medication may cause central nervous system symptoms such as drowsiness, fatigue, headache, and dizziness, so attention should be paid when driving or operating machinery. Combining it with alcohol or other medications that affect the central nervous system should be avoided due to the potential intensification of drowsiness or decreased concentration. Patients with urinary excretion disorders need to exercise caution when using this medication. Since this medication has the effect of suppressing allergic reactions, it is advisable to temporarily discontinue use before undergoing allergy testing. In case of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness, anxiety, and restlessness may occur, and as there are no specific antidotes, suitable treatment should be sought according to the symptoms. Dialysis will not effectively eliminate this medication, so medical advice should be sought in the case of overdose.
