How to take

Adult dose

Essential hypertension adults: An initial and maintenance dose of 8 to 16 mg of Candesartan Cilexetil orally once a day is recommended. If sufficient blood pressure control is not achieved with a dose of 16 mg once daily after 4 weeks of treatment, it may be increased to a maximum of 32 mg once daily. Heart failure adults: The initial dose of 4 mg once daily is recommended. Doses may be doubled at intervals of at least 2 weeks.

Child dose

Precautions

This medication can cause severe harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant and nursing mothers should not take this medication. It should not be taken by those allergic to this drug or its components, and caution is advised for patients with severe liver disease or biliary obstruction. In case of overdose, symptomatic hypotension and dizziness may occur, and medical assistance should be sought immediately. While taking this medication, blood pressure, renal function, and serum potassium levels should be checked regularly, and interactions with other medications should be monitored. In particular, caution should be exercised when taken with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements as the risk of hyperkalemia increases, so consultation with a healthcare provider is necessary. Care should be taken when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. It is safest not to take this medication during pregnancy or for children and adolescents, as well as nursing mothers. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.
