Precautions

This medicine may rarely cause systemic tonic-clonic seizures even in patients without a history of seizures. Caution is advised, especially in cases of electrolyte imbalance, such as hyponatremia or hypokalemia, which can increase the risk of seizures, so it should be used with great care when combined with diuretics or ACE inhibitors that can cause electrolyte disturbances. Additionally, this drug should not be administered to patients with severe gastrointestinal diseases such as bowel obstruction, gastrointestinal perforation, or toxic colitis, and it should be used cautiously in patients with severe ulcerative colitis. The artificial sweetener aspartame included in this medication is broken down into phenylalanine in the body, so it should not be used in patients with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria. It should not be administered to patients with allergic reactions or suspected gastrointestinal obstruction or perforation, severely dehydrated patients, patients with severe heart failure, or children under the age of 18. Care should be taken when administering this drug to elderly patients, frail patients, patients with significantly reduced kidney function, and patients with vomiting reflex impairment. During administration, if abnormal symptoms such as abdominal distension or abdominal pain occur, the dosage should be adjusted or stopped, and appropriate examination should be performed. While using this drug, bowel movements should be closely monitored to ensure proper bowel activity, and diarrhea may occur post-administration, so adequate hydration is necessary. Patients with heart disease or at risk for electrolyte imbalance should undergo ECG and blood tests to monitor their condition, and treatment should be combined as needed. This drug may interfere with the absorption of other oral medications, so it is advisable not to take other oral medications within 1 hour after administration. Additionally, the risk of gastrointestinal mucosal damage may increase when used with irritant laxatives, so co-administration should be avoided. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this medication cautiously as its safety has not been established, weighing the diagnostic need against potential risks. This medication has not been confirmed for safety and efficacy in children, hence it is not administered to them. In case of overdose, dehydration and electrolyte disturbances may worsen, so symptoms should be closely monitored and necessary treatment received. Finally, this medicine should be taken immediately after preparation, and any solution not used within 24 hours should be discarded. It should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring to another container is not recommended as it may compromise quality.
