This medication is used to relieve symptoms when sputum expulsion is difficult due to conditions such as acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, laryngitis, sinusitis, and cystic fibrosis.

How to take

Adult dose

Acute conditions Adults: 200 mg once, 3 times a day Chronic conditions Adults: 200 mg once, 2 times a day

Acute conditions Children: 6 - 14 years 200 mg once, 2 times a day Chronic conditions Children: 6 - 14 years 100 mg once, 3 times a day Cystic fibrosis Children: 6 years and older 200 mg once, 1 day

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by anyone who is allergic to this medication or its ingredients. Patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum, as well as children under 2 years old, should not take this medication. People with genetic disorders that prevent the digestion of lactose should also avoid this medication. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication when absolutely necessary and must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. Also, as it is not known whether this medication is excreted in breast milk, nursing women should also use it cautiously. During treatment, digestive symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, oral inflammation, heartburn, and diarrhea may occur; if these symptoms arise, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Allergic reactions such as hives, itching, rashes, headaches, tinnitus, and bronchial spasms may also occur, so if these symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately. This medication may reduce the effectiveness of some antibiotics, so it is advisable to maintain a minimum 2-hour interval when taking them together. Do not mix this medication with other drugs and keep it in its original container, out of reach of children. When using for inhalation, patients with bronchial asthma or poor respiratory function should definitely consult a doctor before use, as well as pregnant women, nursing mothers, elderly individuals, and children. During inhalation, bronchial spasms or allergic reactions may occasionally occur, so if these symptoms show, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. After inhalation, a mask may adhere to the face but can be easily removed by washing with water. This medication may lose effectiveness when used with antibiotics, so if used together, it is advisable to administer each separately. Inhalation devices should be cleaned immediately after use, and care should be taken to avoid prolonged contact with the solution. This medication should be stored in its original container and kept out of reach of children.
