The artificial sweetener aspartame contained in this medicine breaks down into phenylalanine in the body, so patients with phenylketonuria who need to restrict phenylalanine intake should not take this medicine. The pseudoephedrine ingredient in this medicine can rarely cause severe skin allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as fever, skin rash, or small blisters appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. As it contains acetaminophen, the maximum daily dosage must not exceed 4,000mg, and it should not be taken with other products containing acetaminophen to prevent liver damage. Individuals who have had allergic reactions to this medicine or its ingredients, those who have previously experienced asthma, infants under 3 months old, and those currently taking or have recently stopped certain antidepressants or psychiatric medications should not use it. Since it contains sodium bisulfite, which can cause allergic reactions or trigger asthma attacks, patients with asthma should be particularly cautious. While taking this medicine, it is safest to avoid other medications that contain cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Children who have had or are suspected of having chickenpox or influenza, those with allergies or a history of allergic reactions to medications, those with liver, kidney, heart, or thyroid diseases, and pregnant or nursing women must consult a healthcare professional before taking this medicine. If rashes, itching, nausea, dizziness, severe skin reactions, asthma symptoms, or signs of liver dysfunction occur while taking this medicine, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. Children under 2 years of age should generally not take this medicine except in special cases, and if necessary, they must receive medical supervision.
