It should also be avoided in patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia due to the risk of rashes. This medication may cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain; if symptoms are severe, usage should be immediately discontinued. Rare side effects such as liver dysfunction, severe allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, and renal abnormalities can occur, and if any abnormal symptoms appear, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary. This medication is a penicillin-class antibiotic, and because hypersensitivity reactions can be severe, close observation is necessary after administration to prepare for emergencies such as anaphylactic shock. Long-term use may lead to the emergence of resistant bacteria and changes in liver or renal function should be monitored. It should be avoided in early pregnancy, and caution is needed during breastfeeding as abnormal symptoms may develop in the infant. It is recommended not to use it in premature infants or neonates as safety has not been established. Elderly patients have a higher risk of side effects due to decreased physiological function, so dosage adjustments and monitoring of condition are necessary. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to inform your healthcare provider. In cases of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal function abnormalities, or seizures may appear, and immediate medical treatment is necessary.
