Used to relieve symptoms primarily associated with respiratory diseases, such as cough and phlegm.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and adolescents aged 15 and above: 1 time 20 mL, taken orally 3 to 4 times a day after meals and at bedtime.

Child dose

Ages 12 to under 15: 1 time 13 mL, taken orally 3 to 4 times a day after meals and at bedtime.

Precautions

It is advisable not to administer this medication to individuals under 18 years of age who are obese, have obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, or suffer from severe lung diseases due to the increased risk of severe respiratory depression. Individuals with allergies to this medication or its components or a history of hypersensitivity should not take it, nor should it be taken by individuals currently taking MAO inhibitors such as antidepressants or antipsychotics or who have stopped taking them less than two weeks prior. It is also not safe to use this medication in children under 12 years of age, breastfeeding women, patients with glaucoma, or those with lower urinary obstruction conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia. Caution is required when administering this medicine to individuals with a history of allergic reactions to drugs, liver or kidney dysfunctions, thyroid disease, diabetes, those who are frail or have a high fever. Those with cardiovascular disease, elderly individuals, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, or patients with elevated intraocular pressure or urination difficulties should also take this medication with care. Patients whose cough persists or who have respiratory diseases such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema should consult with a doctor before taking this medication. This medication can cause various side effects such as shock, hypersensitivity reactions, gastrointestinal discomfort, neurological abnormalities, urination issues, heart and blood pressure problems, and respiratory dryness, so any abnormal symptoms should be reported to medical personnel immediately. Drowsiness may occur while taking this medication, therefore it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery, and one should refrain from overdosing or using it for extended periods. Do not take it with other cough suppressants, cold medications, antihistamines, or sedatives, and be cautious as drowsiness may be heightened when taken with alcohol or central nervous system depressants. Pregnant or nursing women should use this medication cautiously as its safety has not been established, and especially while nursing, as it may suppress milk secretion and pass into breast milk, making it advisable to avoid use. Excessive dosing in children can lead to hallucinations, agitation, convulsions, and in severe cases, death, hence it must not be given to children under 12 years of age. Elderly patients should be closely monitored while taking this medication due to decreased bodily functions. In the event of an overdose, central nervous system abnormalities, breathing difficulties, and heart problems may occur, so immediate emergency measures such as inducing vomiting or gastric lavage should be taken. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, kept away from direct sunlight, and stored in a cool, dry place. For quality maintenance, it is also important not to transfer it to other containers.

  • Neurological: dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, drowsiness, sedation, nervousness, headache, restlessness, diplopia, tinnitus, vestibular disorders, abnormal euphoria, emotional instability, hysteria, tremors, neuritis, cooperation difficulties.

Storage

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to avoid exposure to air or moisture. The storage temperature should be maintained at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees.
