This medication is used to relieve nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, and itching of the eyes and nose caused by seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. How to take

Adult dose

For children over 12 years and adults, take 1 tablet twice a day (morning and evening), regardless of meals. Do not chew or crush the tablets; swallow them whole. For patients with renal or liver impairment, reduce the dosage to 1 tablet once a day.

Precautions

This medication contains pseudoephedrine, which can cause serious skin reactions such as acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis. If you experience fever, redness, small pustules, or other skin symptoms while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. This medication should not be administered to patients with specific diseases or conditions. For example, patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, or have severe hypertension, heart disease, renal failure, hyperthyroidism, arrhythmia, glaucoma, urinary retention, etc., should not take this medication. Additionally, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take this medication. Patients with diabetes, hypertension, thyroid problems, heart disease, or liver or kidney dysfunction should take this medication cautiously. Caution is also needed if taken with other central nervous system affecting medications or alcohol. This medication may cause side effects such as dry mouth, headache, drowsiness, dizziness, insomnia, rapid heartbeat, and nausea; in severe cases, serious symptoms such as respiratory distress, seizures, allergic reactions, and visual disturbances may occur. Drowsiness or fatigue may occur after taking this medication, so care should be taken when engaging in tasks requiring alertness, such as driving or operating machinery. Additionally, avoid taking this medication with alcohol or certain antidepressants. This medication can interact with other drugs; therefore, consult with a physician or pharmacist when taking it with monoamine oxidase inhibitors, heart medications, antihypertensives, and other decongestants. If pregnant or breastfeeding, its safety has not been established, so it should only be taken when absolutely necessary and under a physician's judgment, and breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment. Children under 12 years of age should avoid this medication as its safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly patients should be cautious as drug concentrations may increase due to reduced kidney function, leading to more pronounced side effects.
