It is advisable not to use this medication in patients who have previously experienced liver dysfunction or jaundice due to this medication or penicillin-class drugs. In patients with impaired liver function, use with caution as the drug may worsen liver function. In patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, dosing intervals should be adjusted as drug concentrations may increase. Patients with allergic tendencies or family histories may have severe reactions to the medication and should be monitored closely. Patients who have difficulty with oral intake or poor nutritional status, especially the elderly, should take caution due to the risk of bleeding from vitamin K deficiency. Patients with gastrointestinal diseases with vomiting or diarrhea may not absorb the medication properly. This medication can cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, gastroenteritis, and vomiting, and in severe cases, pseudomembranous colitis may occur, so consultation with a doctor should occur immediately if symptoms appear. Symptoms of liver dysfunction have been rarely reported, especially in the elderly and males, so liver function testing may be necessary. Skin rashes, hives, and severe allergic reactions may occur, and if these symptoms arise, medication should be discontinued and physician's instructions followed. Hematological side effects, such as leukopenia and anemia, have been rarely reported, necessitating regular blood tests.
