This medication is a penicillin-class antibiotic and should not be administered to certain patients. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug's components or beta-lactam antibiotics, those with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, and those who have experienced liver dysfunction or jaundice due to this medication or penicillin should not use it. Patients with liver dysfunction or moderate to severe renal impairment, allergy-prone patients, those who have difficulty with oral intake, older adults, and those with gastrointestinal diseases should use this medication cautiously. This medication can cause gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as diarrhea, dyspepsia, vomiting, and abdominal pains, and in severe cases, may lead to serious symptoms like pseudomembranous colitis, so caution is necessary. Increased liver function test values or rare adverse reactions related to the liver such as hepatitis and cholestatic jaundice may occur, so especially in older adults or with prolonged use, liver status should be closely monitored. Serious skin reactions may occur, including skin rashes, itching, and in severe cases, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, so if any skin abnormalities arise, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. Rare reports of blood tests showing leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, and potential bleeding tendencies necessitate caution with any bleeding symptoms. Effects on the central nervous system may cause anxiety, nervousness, headaches, or seizures, which may be more likely in patients with renal impairment or those receiving high doses. Serious renal-related adverse effects such as acute renal failure or interstitial nephritis may rarely occur, necessitating regular monitoring of kidney function. Changes in the intestinal flora may lead to superinfections like candidiasis or stomatitis, and if symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued. Bleeding tendencies from vitamin K deficiency or symptoms of vitamin B complex deficiency may rarely be reported, necessitating caution with long-term use. This medication can interact with other drugs, so especially when combined with anticoagulants, probenecid, allopurinol, or antibiotics, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is advisable. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should avoid using this medication, especially during the first trimester, and nursing mothers should be cautious as side effects may occur in the infant. Not recommended for children, especially those under 12 years or weighing less than 40 kg. Older adults may experience adverse reactions more readily due to decreased bodily function, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted, and careful usage is warranted. Certain clinical test results may be affected while taking this medication, so this should be communicated during laboratory tests. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal function abnormalities, and seizures may occur, necessitating immediate discontinuation of use and medical treatment.
