In cases of severe and respiratory infections, the dosage may be increased to 500 mg/125 mg at a time. Precautions

This medication is an antibiotic in the penicillin group and should not be given to patients who have had allergic reactions to beta-lactam drugs. Special caution is advised for those who have experienced anaphylaxis or severe skin reactions. Patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia may have an increased risk of rash with this medication, and thus should avoid its use. Furthermore, patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice due to this medication or penicillin should also avoid administration. Patients with poor liver function may see further deterioration of liver function when using this medication, hence careful administration is required. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment may require adjustments to their dosing intervals as drug levels may become elevated. Those with an allergic constitution or patients who easily experience symptoms such as bronchial asthma, rash, or urticaria need to be particularly cautious when taking this medication. Additionally, patients who find oral intake difficult or elderly patients may exhibit symptoms of Vitamin K deficiency, necessitating caution. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur. If severe colitis symptoms such as pseudomembranous colitis develop, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and medical advice should be sought. Gastrointestinal-related side effects may be somewhat alleviated by taking the medication with food. Liver function abnormalities may occur, so if hepatitis or jaundice symptoms arise, you should inform your healthcare provider immediately, with older adults and males being more likely to experience these issues. Skin rashes, itchiness, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur; if skin symptoms appear, usage should be stopped immediately, and a healthcare provider should be notified. Blood-related side effects such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia can occur rarely, so regular testing is necessary during prolonged use. This medication is excreted through urine, thus patients with poor renal function may need dosage adjustments, and overdose can lead to gastrointestinal symptoms, kidney issues, or neurological symptoms requiring immediate medical attention. Women who are pregnant or nursing should exercise caution with this medication, as its safety has not been fully established; consultation with a physician is advised, especially during the first trimester of pregnancy when use should preferably be avoided. Interactions with other medications may occur while taking this medication, so any current medications should be disclosed to your healthcare provider, particularly if anticoagulants or certain antibiotics are being taken together. This medication is recommended only for children aged 12 and older or weighing over 40 kg, and elderly patients, due to decreased bodily function, may exhibit more side effects, thereby requiring careful monitoring of dosage and intervals. Finally, this medication should be stored in a cool, dry place protected from moisture, and if any abnormal symptoms occur during use, you must consult a physician immediately.
