This medication helps treat ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, and alleviates symptoms associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also used as a long-term maintenance therapy for gastroesophageal reflux disease, and is administered in combination with antibiotics for patients with gastrointestinal ulcers infected by Helicobacter pylori. It is effective for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Overall, it is used to improve various conditions related to gastrointestinal diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

For gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer: 10 mg orally once a day. Depending on symptoms, it can be increased to 20 mg once a day. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: 10 mg or 20 mg once a day for 4 to 8 weeks. If symptoms do not improve, additional treatment for 8 weeks with 10 mg or 20 mg orally twice a day may be necessary. For alleviation of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms: 10 mg orally once a day.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic or hypersensitive to certain components.
