This drug is effective against a variety of bacteria and is primarily used for respiratory infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, and uncomplicated pelvic infections. It is effective for acute sinusitis and acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, as well as community-acquired pneumonia. Due to the risk of side effects of fluoroquinolone antibiotics, it is recommended to use this drug only when no alternative treatments are available for acute bacterial sinusitis and acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis. This drug demonstrates broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against various gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, atypical bacteria, and anaerobic bacteria, thus helping in the treatment of infections.
