This medication is used to treat epithelial damage in the conjunctiva caused by endogenous factors such as Sjögren's syndrome, mucous membrane pemphigoid (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), and dry eye syndrome, as well as epithelial damage in the conjunctiva due to exogenous factors like surgery, drug side effects, trauma, and contact lens wear.

How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

0.1%, 0.3%: Instill 1 drop at a time, 5 to 6 times a day. Adjust as appropriate according to symptoms. Typically, the 0.1% preparation is administered, and if its effect is insufficient in severe conditions, the 0.3% preparation is used.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have a hypersensitivity to protein-based drugs or an allergy to the components of this medication. Symptoms such as itching, irritation, redness, conjunctivitis, corneal disorders, and foreign body sensation may occur, and rarely, crusting or eye pain may arise. If these symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. Additionally, inflammation or dermatitis around the eyelids may be observed, so if these symptoms arise, stop using the medication and seek treatment. When using this medication with other drugs, adverse reactions may occur more frequently, especially when combined with steroids, treatments for dry eyes, antibacterial agents, glaucoma medications, antihistamines, cataract medications, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics, so caution is required. Do not use this medication simultaneously with other eye drops; if it is necessary to use another, instill one medication and wait 30 minutes before using this one. This medication should only be used for direct instillation into the eye, and care should be taken not to let the tip of the container touch the eyelids or eyelashes. If the container becomes contaminated, the solution may also become contaminated. For single-use products, discard 1–2 drops when first using it, and use immediately after opening; any remaining solution must be discarded. It is also advisable not to share this medication and to keep it out of reach of children. Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight, and to maintain quality, do not transfer the solution into another container.
