Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to this medication or its ingredients, pregnant or lactating women, and patients with severe liver or kidney disease should not take this medication. Elderly patients, patients with hyperkalemia, liver disease, or heart disease require special caution while taking this medication, and it is advisable to start with a low dose and closely monitor the condition. This medication lowers blood pressure and may cause a rapid drop in blood pressure upon initial administration, leading to dizziness or fainting; hence caution is advised, especially for patients taking diuretics or those who are volume depleted. Regular blood tests to monitor kidney function and serum potassium levels during the medication period are important. Drug interactions may occur when taken with other antihypertensive medications, certain diuretics, or potassium supplements, so consultation with a physician or pharmacist before use is recommended. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur; caution is required when driving or operating machinery. If symptoms of angioedema, such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue occur, discontinue use immediately and visit a medical institution. Severe hypotension or loss of consciousness can occur in cases of overdose, so immediate medical assistance is required. The safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been adequately established, and its use should be avoided. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring to another container may compromise quality, so caution is required.
