This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with mild to moderate renal impairment, no dose adjustment is required, but it should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment or those on dialysis. For patients with liver impairment, the daily dose of valsartan should not exceed 80 mg, and it should not be administered to patients with severe liver impairment.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn when taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, therefore women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take it. Patients with allergies to any of the ingredients in this medication or those with severe renal or liver dysfunction should not use this medication. Patients with sodium or fluid depletion should correct their condition before taking this medication, and if symptoms of hypotension occur during treatment, they should seek appropriate measures immediately. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking potassium supplements should have their potassium levels regularly checked. Patients with heart failure or post-myocardial infarction should closely monitor for changes in renal function while taking this medication, and those with acute myocardial infarction should carefully monitor for symptoms at the initiation of therapy. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue when driving or operating machinery, so caution is necessary. This medication may interact with other drugs, especially those affecting blood pressure control or drugs like simvastatin and CYP3A4 inhibitors, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is advised when taking them together. It is recommended that women who are pregnant or breastfeeding do not take this medication, and should consult a doctor if planning to become pregnant. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been sufficiently established in pediatric patients, and it is not recommended for use in this population. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac-related side effects may occur, hence the dosage should be strictly adhered to, and any abnormal symptoms should be reported to medical personnel immediately.

Urticaria, angioedema, tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash accompanied by fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mouth/eye mucosa, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attack, respiratory distress with cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), profound malaise, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis.
