This medication is used to relieve acute and chronic pain ranging from moderate to severe.

How to take

Adult dose

For initial dosage, it is recommended to administer 2 tablets, with subsequent dosing intervals of at least 12 hours apart, not to exceed 8 tablets per day. Avoid using this medication for an extended period unnecessarily, and if prolonged use is essential due to the nature and severity of the illness, regular monitoring should be conducted to confirm the continuation of this medication. For elderly patients, administer the usual adult dosage, but for those aged 75 years and older, dose adjustments are necessary.

Precautions

This medication may put stress on the liver; therefore, those who regularly consume more than three drinks a day must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. If severe rashes or allergic reactions such as hives occur during the course of taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and inform medical personnel. One of the ingredients in this medication, tramadol, may increase the risk of seizures; therefore, patients with a history of seizures or those at risk for seizures should take it with caution. Taking tramadol with certain antidepressants or other central nervous system depressants may increase the risk of seizures or serious side effects, so consult a physician. In patients with severe respiratory diseases, this medication may suppress breathing, and should be administered in a monitored environment if necessary. This medication can cause physical and psychological dependence; therefore, long-term use should be carefully monitored for dependence and abuse risks. Patients with impaired liver function may face a risk of liver damage when taking this medication, so they must consult healthcare providers before taking it. Particularly, patients genetically predisposed to rapid metabolism of this medication may have an increased risk of side effects like respiratory depression, thus requiring dose adjustment and close monitoring. This medication should not be administered to children under 12 years old or adolescents under 18 years old who have undergone tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. Elderly patients or those with decreased kidney or liver function may have an increased risk of side effects from this medication, so caution is advised.
