This medication helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In particular, it reduces the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke, as well as the risk of hospitalization due to vascular interventions, angina, and congestive heart failure. It is also effective in lowering total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol in patients with hyperlipidemia. It is used in conjunction with patients who do not respond sufficiently to dietary changes, as well as those with certain types of familial hypercholesterolemia. It is used to control blood lipid levels in pediatric patients aged 10 to 17 years who meet specific criteria for heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. This medication is used to improve cardiovascular health and treat dyslipidemia.
