This medication is used to relieve symptoms associated with painful muscle spasms accompanying musculoskeletal disorders, such as shoulder-hand syndrome, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. It is also effective for various cerebrospinal diseases such as spastic paralysis due to neurological disorders, cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, cervical spondylosis, postoperative sequelae, trauma sequelae, and cerebral palsy. This drug improves muscle stiffness and pain, aiding the recovery of motor function in patients. Therefore, it is used to alleviate muscle stiffness and pain symptoms caused by neurological and musculoskeletal disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 50 mg orally 3 times a day after meals as Eperisone Hydrochloride. Adjust the dose appropriately according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in certain patients. First, patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or those with myasthenia gravis should not take it. Additionally, patients with congenital lactose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption should also avoid this medication. Those with allergies to soybean oil, soybeans, or peanuts should avoid this medication. This medication should be administered with caution to patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity, liver dysfunction, and abnormal fat metabolism. Special attention is required for individuals with liver impairment, as liver function may be exacerbated. During the use of this medication, various side effects may occur. Rarely, shock reactions can occur, so symptoms should be carefully monitored, along with precautions for liver and kidney function abnormalities, anemia, etc. Symptoms such as skin rash or itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, gastrointestinal disturbances, and urinary retention may also occur. In severe cases, serious skin adverse reactions such as anaphylaxis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, so if fever, blisters, or conjunctival injection appear, the medication should be immediately discontinued and consult a physician. During treatment with this medication, weakness, unsteadiness, or drowsiness may occur, so driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided. Patients at risk of fat overload should regularly monitor their blood lipid levels while adjusting the medication dosage. Furthermore, this medication may interact with other muscle relaxants containing similar ingredients, causing issues like visual disturbances, so caution is advised. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication if the therapeutic need outweighs the risks, as its safety has not been established. Nursing mothers are advised to avoid this medication, and if it must be taken, discontinuation of breastfeeding is advisable. The safety of this medication has not been thoroughly established in children, so caution is necessary. Elderly patients may have decreased physiological functions, necessitating careful dosage adjustments.
