In severe cases and for respiratory infections, dosing may be increased to 500 mg/125 mg. Precautions

This drug is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients who are allergic to certain components or have experienced hypersensitivity reactions to beta-lactam medications. Caution is particularly needed in patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, as the risk of rash is higher. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction may experience a recurrence of liver dysfunction when taking this medication, so it should be administered carefully. Patients with poor liver or kidney function should be cautious about dosage adjustments, as the drug may remain in the body longer, increasing the risk of side effects. Patients with allergic constitutions or those who easily develop symptoms such as asthma, rashes, or hives should also exercise caution. Elderly patients or those in poor overall condition may be at risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, thus requiring observation. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur, and if severe diarrhea or abdominal pain occurs, the medication should be immediately discontinued. Liver function impairment symptoms may also appear rarely, so regular liver function tests are recommended. Skin rashes, itching, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may develop, requiring immediate discontinuation of use if such symptoms arise. Rarely reported blood side effects may include leukopenia and anemia, which may require blood tests. There may be effects on the central nervous system, leading to dizziness, headaches, and rarely seizures, warranting caution. Patients with impaired kidney function are at risk of kidney damage, so regular kidney function tests are necessary. Antibiotic use may lead to an imbalance of intestinal bacteria, resulting in candidiasis or stomatitis. Signs of bleeding may develop due to vitamin K deficiency, thus caution should be exercised regarding bleeding symptoms. It is important to take this medication for only the minimum required duration to prevent the development of resistant strains. If there is a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin antibiotics, serious allergic reactions may occur, so it is essential to consult with a healthcare provider before administration. Anaphylactic shock may rarely occur, so patients should be monitored adequately post-administration. If diarrhea worsens or abdominal cramps occur, there’s a possibility of pseudomembranous colitis, and the medication should be discontinued immediately and reported to a healthcare provider. Caution is needed when taking for more than 14 days due to the risk of proliferation of non-susceptible strains. Patients with liver function failure should be cautious due to the risk of worsening liver function when taking this medication. Patients with moderate or severe renal impairment require dosage adjustments. It is advisable for patients suspected of infectious mononucleosis to avoid this medication. If skin rashes, hives, or serum sickness symptoms appear, medication should be stopped immediately and a healthcare provider should be consulted. Regular monitoring of kidney, liver, and hematological function tests is encouraged for long-term use. If there are any allergies to penicillin or cephalosporin, healthcare providers should be notified before administration. In cases of overdose, primarily gastrointestinal symptoms may appear, and severe cases could lead to renal failure or seizures, necessitating immediate emergency treatment. This medication should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and should be used with caution in pregnant women during early pregnancy or those who may become pregnant. During breastfeeding, infants may experience diarrhea or allergic reactions, and administration should be stopped if any adverse symptoms occur. It is not recommended for children under 12 years old or those weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients may have more pronounced reactions due to reduced physiological function, therefore, dosage and administration intervals must be monitored carefully. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if other medications are being taken, it is essential to inform healthcare providers.
