Bepostar Tablet (Bepotastine Salicylate)

Adult dose

Usually, adults are given 1 tablet (containing 7.11mg of bepotastine) orally twice daily.

This medicine should not be taken by anyone allergic to its components. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so patients with genetic issues that impair lactose digestion should not take it. Patients with kidney or liver function problems, as well as elderly individuals, should take special precautions when using this medication. Taking this medication may result in side effects such as drowsiness, headache, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, and diarrhea; if symptoms are severe, consult a doctor. Exercise caution when driving or operating hazardous machinery due to the potential for drowsiness to cause accidents. Patients who have been undergoing long-term steroid treatment should adjust the steroid dosage slowly when taking this medication. Patients with impaired kidney function may experience higher blood concentration of this medication; therefore, start with a low dosage and monitor conditions closely. For patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis, it is advisable to consider the season and start and stop taking this medication at appropriate times. If ineffective, it is safer to avoid long-term use. This medication should not be taken in conjunction with excessive alcohol when using other antihistamines. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant are advised not to take this medication unless absolutely necessary and only after consulting a physician. Nursing women should also avoid this medication as it may be transmitted through breast milk, or consider stopping breastfeeding. Caution is necessary for children as the safety of this medication has not been established. Elderly patients must take care when using this medication due to the prolonged presence of the drug in the body caused by decreased kidney function. This medication may affect the results of allergy tests, so it is advisable to discontinue use before testing. Lastly, this medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in a cool, dry place at or below 30 degrees Celsius.
