This medication is used to improve symptoms of difficulty in expectoration in conditions such as acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, laryngitis, sinusitis, and cystic fibrosis.

How to take

Adult dose

Acute Diseases 200 mg once, 3 times a day Chronic Diseases 200 mg once, 2 times a day

Child dose

Acute Diseases Ages 6 to 14: 200 mg once, 2 times a day Chronic Diseases Ages 6 to 14: 100 mg once, 3 times a day Cystic Fibrosis Ages 6 and up: 200 mg once, 3 times a day

Precautions

This medicine should not be taken by anyone who has had an allergic reaction to this medicine or any of its ingredients. Additionally, patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum, and children under 2 years old should not take this medication. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Breastfeeding women should also consult with a healthcare professional before use since it's uncertain whether this medication passes into breast milk. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, inflammation of the mouth, heartburn, or diarrhea occur during treatment, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. If rash, itching, headache, tinnitus, or bronchoconstriction occurs in asthma patients, use should also be discontinued immediately. Rarely, increased heart rate or high blood pressure may occur, and very rarely, severe allergic reactions may happen, so caution is advised. When taking this medication, it is recommended to take it at least 2 hours apart from oral antibiotics as it may reduce the effectiveness of the antibiotics. Moreover, it is safe not to mix this medication with other drugs in its solution. Keep this medicine out of the reach of children and store it in its original container to maintain the quality and ensure safe use.
