For recurrent tonsillitis and other mild to moderate infections of the upper and lower respiratory tracts, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections, amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate is usually taken in two divided doses of 25 mg/3.6 mg per kg of body weight per day. For severe infections such as otitis media, sinusitis of the upper respiratory tract, bronchopneumonia of the lower respiratory tract, and urinary tract infections, amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate is usually given in two divided doses of 45 mg/6.4 mg per kg of body weight per day.
Child dose
The 7:1 syrup is not suitable for children under 2 months of age. It is also not suitable for pediatric patients with renal impairment. The dosage is administered in two divided doses based on body weight in kg.

This medication is effective against various bacterial infections. It is used for respiratory infections including acute or chronic bronchitis and pneumonia, empyema, lung abscess, and is also applied to ear and nose-related infections such as tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. Additionally, it is effective against urogenital infections such as cystitis, urethritis, and pyelonephritis, as well as pelvic infections and sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea. It is used to treat skin and soft tissue infections like boils, abscesses, and wound infections and is also used for treating osteomyelitis and dental infections. It responds to various causative bacteria, particularly exhibiting effectiveness against beta-lactamase-producing strains. This medication is widely used in the treatment of various infectious diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame and should not be administered to patients with the hereditary condition phenylketonuria. The daily intake of aspartame contained in this medication should be limited to below the WHO recommended amount, and caution is required to ensure that it does not exceed 2.4g per day for a 60kg adult. Patients who have had an allergic reaction to this medication or to beta-lactam antibiotics should not take it, and patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia should especially avoid using this medication. It is also advisable to avoid administering this medication to patients with liver dysfunction or a history of liver disease, as well as those with specific genetic problems such as lactose intolerance. Patients with liver function impairment, moderate to severe kidney impairment, allergic dispositions, those who have difficulty swallowing, elderly patients, and patients with gastrointestinal diseases should use this medication with caution. This medication may cause gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, etc., and in rare cases, serious side effects such as pseudomembranous colitis, hepatitis, and skin rashes may occur. Allergic reactions may present as itching, skin rashes, and anaphylaxis, so if any abnormal symptoms occur, administration should be stopped immediately and medical attention should be sought. Hematological adverse reactions such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia have been reported infrequently, so it is advisable to periodically check blood status. Neurological symptoms such as anxiety, confusion, and convulsions may occur very rarely, requiring attention if such symptoms arise. This medication can affect liver and kidney function, so regular monitoring and observation are necessary during prolonged treatment. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should particularly avoid using this medication in the first three months of pregnancy, and breastfeeding women should be cautious as side effects may occur in the baby. Caution is necessary when using this medication in children, particularly in newborns under 2 months old or premature infants, as safety has not been established. Elderly patients should be cautious due to an increased risk of side effects due to decreased physiological function, adjusting dosage and intervals accordingly.
