Precautions

This drug can cause vasodilation, which may temporarily lower blood pressure. In particular, when taken with nitrate preparations or NO donors, blood pressure may become excessively low and pose a danger, so patients taking these medications should not use this drug. In patients with cardiovascular disease, this medication may place a burden on the heart, so physicians should carefully prescribe it after sufficiently checking the patient's heart condition. This drug should not be administered to patients with hypotension, uncontrolled hypertension, recent myocardial infarction or stroke, or life-threatening arrhythmias. Additionally, caution is needed in patients with severely impaired liver or kidney function, specific retinal diseases, and when used in combination with certain medications. Side effects such as headache, flushing, dyspepsia, back pain, and diarrhea may occur during the use of this medication, and rare reports of vision changes or hearing loss have been noted. The safety of this medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established, so it is preferable to avoid its use if possible. This drug may interact with several other medications, so it is essential to discuss with a physician or pharmacist when used concurrently with specific antiviral agents, alpha-blockers, antibiotics, etc. Use in children has been reported to potentially increase mortality with prolonged administration, so it should be used cautiously and is generally not recommended.
