Precautions

This medication is used to treat asthma and allergic rhinitis. During treatment, psychiatric side effects may occur; hence, patients and caregivers should monitor for changes such as anxiety, aggressive behavior, depression, hallucinations, and suicidal thoughts. If any of these symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. This medication contains aspartame, an artificial sweetener, so patients with phenylketonuria should avoid using it. Lactose is included, thus patients with galactose intolerance, lactose deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should also refrain from using this medication. This medication is not an emergency treatment for acute asthma attacks and a fast-acting inhaled bronchodilator should be used for acute symptoms. It is advisable to avoid taking aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs during treatment, especially for patients with aspirin sensitivity. While prolonged use does not significantly increase adverse reactions, symptoms such as fever, headache, abdominal pain, cough, and rash may occur. Consult a physician before use if pregnant or breastfeeding; caution is also needed for children and the elderly. There are no specific antidotes for overdose, so general treatment should be followed based on symptoms and under the direction of a physician. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container for safety. If asthma symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear during usage, consult a physician and do not unilaterally stop or adjust the dosage.
