How to take

Adult dose

This medication is taken once daily, ideally in the evening for asthma patients. For allergic rhinitis patients, dosing time is determined based on the patient's condition. For patients with both asthma and allergic rhinitis, take 4 mg in the evening once daily. This medication is to be administered 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after meals.

Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis; it is not for treating acute asthma attacks. Therefore, when acute symptoms occur, a short-acting inhaled bronchodilator must be kept on hand and used. Additionally, during the course of this medication, new neuropsychiatric symptoms or behavioral changes may occur, so both the patient and caregiver should closely monitor for these changes. If symptoms such as anxiety, depression, hallucinations, or suicidal impulses appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. This medication contains phenylalanine, so patients with the hereditary condition phenylketonuria should not take it. If there is an allergic reaction to this medication or hypersensitivity to its components, it should be avoided. Side effects such as fatigue, headache, dyspepsia, cough, or rash may occur, and serious side effects such as liver dysfunction, skin rash, or blood disorders have been reported in rare cases. Particularly in asthma patients, there have been rare instances of systemic eosinophilia and vasculitis symptoms, requiring careful monitoring by a physician. It should only be administered during pregnancy if absolutely necessary, and nursing mothers should take it with caution. Children and the elderly may use this medication, but special dose adjustments or precautions based on age may be necessary. No significant drug interactions have been reported with other asthma treatments; however, if used with medications that induce liver metabolism, monitoring by a physician is needed. In case of overdose, there are no specific antidotes, so general symptomatic treatment and clinical monitoring are needed. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and it is important to avoid changing the storage container.
